This is a Great Campout - I took my Son to last year, and we both had a
blast!
It is sponsored by the Circle 10 Council and does cost $45 per person,
which
covers all meals, craft materials, and Patch for the whole weekend.
I am attaching the registration for convenience.

Hi Pack 312!
Well it's almost time for our Family Campout at Camp Harlow in Hunt
County. All members of the family and siblings are welcome. I wanted to
share a couple thoughts and suggestions as I know this is a 1st Cub
Scout Camping Trip for some families. This will be Tent Camping, the
Camp does have running water, toilets, sinks, a covered picnic
pavilion, ponds for fishing (catch and release only), and hiking trails.
Families are welcome to attend any portion of the campout or any day
activities. Participation is optional and at the sole discretion of the
Family. A parent or guardian is required to stay with the Scout during
the weekend, the campout is for the entire family.
All families will be responsible for their own food and snacks during
the Campout. We will provide a Pack Desert on Saturday Night after
Dinner.
Please see the materials below, there are a number of economical
sources for Tents, Cooking Supplies, and Camp Gear. I really like
shopping garage sales for old pots, pans, and utensils. Also at the
last training I attended w/ Susie Bishop I learned about the best
camping plate ever - a smooth Frisbee! You can also create Camp Stoves
from Coffee Cans, Large Pots with a Grate and Charcoal, or you can use
a portable grill if you have one.
There are a number of stores that are marking down tents and camping
goods as we enter the Fall season, such as Walmart, Target, Dick's, and
Sports Authority. I saw a nice Tent last week for under $30 at Walmart.
It is recommended that each Scout and Family should print and
have in their possession a completed Personal Health
and Medical Record, Class 1 form 34414 which can be printed from
http://www.scouting.org/filestore/pdf/34414.pdf If you have a medical form already on file with the Pack, your covered.
We camp so long as the weather is not Severe - our Scouts and Scouting
Families Safety is foremost on our minds. If we have to postpone or
reschedule for extreme reasons, we will send an email Thursday Night
and post it on the website at http://RoyseCityScouts.org
in the Cub Scout Area.
