ABOUT US Jim and Tisha Harrison are the owners of Rocky Mountain Kenpo Karate and have been active members of the A.K.K.I. since 2000. Both Jim and Tisha love the art and are very passionate about teaching. A sign that hangs over the door in their studio expresses a great belief, “To learn is to teach. To teach is to learn.” Jim and Tisha both want you to know, “One of the greatest benefits of being members of the A.K.K.I. is growing to know and love so many great people. It is such a marvelous experience to be blessed with the opportunity to be a part of so many people’s lives. The kids that are in our youth classes are amazing young people, we love to go to work every day and be with these kids. It is so encouraging to see parents and children taking classes, and to know how much that our school enriches their family lives.”
Jim’s attention to technical detail and patience shines not only through his exquisite form but his superior explanations that make understanding exciting and fun! Jim attended Utah State University in Family and Human Development and has a strong desire to build a strong group of young people that will be prepared and to give them the self confidence, and ability to withstand peer pressure and grow into upstanding young adults.
Tisha uses her skills to help keep her kids focused, to learn their life skills and techniques, as well as having fun. She also brings with her energy and enthusiasm and is always ready to have some fun with the kids. Tisha attended Utah State University in Business, Information Technologies. She uses these skills to run a studio in an efficient and competitive way. Jim and Tisha want to teach for the love of the art not as a cash register. Nothing is more important than seeing the wonderful changes and growth in people as they come through the system.
All of us at Rocky Mountain Kenpo Karate want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to our instructor Mr. Alan Jacob, Southern Utah State Representative, 6th Degree Black Belt. Without his support and dedication this would not be possible. (www.uvsckenpo.com) Contact Jim or Tisha Harrison 208-851-8244 or 801-540-9306 |
