October 20, 2008 Fallbrook, CA- San Diego Chapter 92 of the National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU) today issued a strong endorsement of Robert Hamilton in his bid for the CA 49th seat in the U. S. House of Representatives. The NTEU, based in Washington, DC, is the nation’s largest independent union of federal employees, representing over 150,000 employees in thirty-one agencies and departments. In issuing their support for candidates Hamilton, Leibham, Lumpkin and Reps. Davis and Filner, Chapter 92 President Malcolm Gettmann said “It is crucial that federal employees support the election of candidates who value and understand the work they perform. These candidates have earned our endorsement by respecting and supporting federal employees and the work they do for our country”. Hamilton notes, “I am deeply honored to have the endorsement of the NTEU. After a long career in international finance, I value and respect these fine people for the important work they do on our behalf. Fallbrook, CA- The Robert Hamilton campaign for Congress (CA 49th
District) is heating up and drawing national attention with his endorsement by the
highly regarded Esquire Magazine over
his opponent Darrell Issa. The widely anticipated November endorsement issue is
on the newsstands now.
To quote
from the endorsement: "Name a Bush-era controversy-- the U.S. attorneys
scandal, disappearing White House e-mails, disastrously unqualified
appointments, warrantless wiretapping, torture-- and Issa's been there to
defend the party line. Esquire endorses
Hamilton."
Hamilton
notes that “the Esquire endorsement
is especially welcome because the magazines’ editorial policy is non-partisan,
with a history of endorsing on merit, promise and proven performance.”

2008
Fallbrook, CA- Robert Hamilton’s campaign for the House of
Representatives (CA 49th District) has received the strong
endorsement of retired Marine Corps four-star General
Joseph P. Hoar. General Hoar’s long and
distinguished career in the Marine Corps included assignments at Camp
Pendleton, in Vietnam, and as Commanding General of the Parris Island
recruiting depot in South Carolina. In 1991 General Hoar relieved General H.
Norman Schwarzkopf as Commander in Chief of United States Central Command. As commander of CENTCOM, he
oversaw a number of operations in the Middle-Eastern theatre, including
enforcement of the Persian Gulf naval embargo and the southern no-fly zone over
Iraq, ground operations in Somalia, and American troop evacuation from Yemen.
General Hoar retired from the Marine Corps in 1994.
In making the
endorsement, General Hoar said, “Let’s send someone to Congress who really
supports the troops. The Disabled American
Veterans say that Darrell Issa voted “yes” on veteran’s issues only 29% of the
time. Recently, he voted AGAINST the new G.I. Bill of Rights to upgrade
education benefits for veterans. Bob Hamilton WILL support veterans in
Congress!”
Hamilton’s
bid to unseat Darrell Issa is rapidly gaining momentum due in no small measure
to his strong bi-partisan support among military personnel and their families.
In a recent endorsement, Washington, DC based Veterans & Military Families for Progress stated, “Hamilton’s
strong commitment to the issues that are critical to veterans, those serving
now, and their families is unsurpassed”.
As a commissioned naval
officer Hamilton served in combat aboard a destroyer during the Vietnam War.
His two brothers also served, as well as a son who is an Iraq War veteran and
recently completed an assignment as commanding officer of a National Guard
unit. Hamilton understands and shares the values of our military forces. He
will ensure that the rights and needs of veterans, active-duty service members
(including national guard and reservists), and their families are protected by
legislation, regulation and public policy initiatives.

Fallbrook, CA- Robert J. Hamilton’s campaign announced
today that he has received the enthusiastic endorsement of Washington, DC based
Veterans & Military Families for
Progress (VMFP) in his bid to unseat incumbent Darrell Issa for the
California 49th Congressional District seat in the United States House of
Representatives.
In a
national press release the VMFP stated “Hamilton’s service to our country
cannot be questioned… Hamilton’s strong commitment to the issues that are
critical to veterans, those serving now, and their families is unsurpassed. His
public support for mandatory full funding of the Veterans Administration and
his declared determination to provide for the establishment of a national
veterans and military family policy give veterans and their families hope that
at long last a congressman will vote in such a way as to keep faith with those who
have served and sacrificed.”
“Additionally,
Hamilton’s decision to support the passage of a 21st century GI
bill, and his deep understanding of the need for providing and guaranteeing
full health coverage for National Guard and Reserve personnel, demonstrate that
he is a candidate who has the character and courage to do what is right for
those in service to our country.
We feel that veterans, active duty, military families, and in fact, all people of the Forty-ninth District
of California will be well-served with Robert Hamilton as their representative
by ensuring that America remains strong in national defense and in fighting
terrorism.”
In
acknowledging this important endorsement, Hamilton said “My opponent Darrell
Issa has fully supported the failed Bush administration military policies and
has demonstrated one of the worst voting records in Congress on veteran’s
issues. I intend to have the
best.”
As a
commissioned naval officer Hamilton served in combat aboard a destroyer during
the Vietnam War, has two brothers who have served, and a son who is commanding
officer of a National Guard unit and an Iraq war vet. Hamilton understands and
shares the values of our military forces.
He fully supports the passage of a 21st Century GI bill to
provide and guarantee full health coverage for National Guard and Reserve
personnel, and to ensure that America remains strong in national defense and in
fighting terrorism.
Founded in
2005, the Veterans & Military
Families for Progress is dedicated to ensuring that the rights and needs of
veterans, active-duty service members (including national guard and

Fallbrook, CA.
Yo me he propuesto tener el mejor”.

Fallbrook, CA - Robert J. Hamilton, Democratic
candidate for the 49th Congressional Seat in the U.S. House of
Representatives, talked to the North Central Democratic Club on Monday night,
June 23rd about his position on the economy, with proposals on how
to reverse the downward trend set in motion by the Bush administration.
Hamilton
said, “Our national debt of over $9 trillion, and growing by over $1.5 billion
per day, has weakened our economy and created a monumental tax burden for
future generations. While the Bush administration has squandered billions on an
unnecessary war and government mismanagement, Congress continues to be controlled by
special interests.”
He
discussed with the audience how our world is being challenged as never before
by escalating demand for energy, food and other vital commodities. Of
particular concern is the urgent need to develop alternatives to high priced
oil. Hamilton said, “The Bush administration and my opponent Darrell Issa
continue to call for more oil drilling to solve our energy problems while
Germany, Brazil and other nations develop better solutions.”
“During
the last seven years, our government has disengaged from programs to reduce
global warming, ridiculed the need for conservation, undermined attempts to
reduce oil consumption, and paid huge subsidies to oil companies while cutting
subsidies for development of alternative sources of energy. I will work to
reverse these misguided policies.”
The audience was concerned with many
different issues regarding the economy.
Hamilton recommended several options for improving the economy including
repair of our nation’s crumbling infrastructure and rail system, affordable
healthcare for all Americans, and greater emphasis on support for small
businesses instead of just the large corporations favored by the Bush
administration and Darrell Issa.
Hamilton favors a “pay-go” policy where
new spending programs must be paid for by cuts in other spending. “Just as
individuals and families throughout our nation are coming to terms with the
new, tougher economic landscape, our government needs to cut back spending to
essentials, plan and invest for long-term growth, and execute the plan
responsibly and competently.”

Fallbrook, CA
Robert J.
Hamilton, Democratic candidate for the 49th Congressional Seat in
the U.S. House of Representatives, today announced his position on the growing
energy crisis and its impact on our economy and national security.
Hamilton’s Position:
"Developing
alternative sources of energy, encouraging energy conservation and achieving
independence from Middle Eastern oil imports are among my highest
priorities", said Hamilton. "For the last seven years the Bush
administration, with almost 100% support from my opponent, Darrell Issa, has
pursued an energy policy built around what's good for the oil industry, not the
long-term interests of our nation. The result is record profits for the oil
industry, which continues to enjoy subsidies at taxpayer expense”.
A more
serious consequence of Bush administration policies has been a weakened economy
in which high gas prices have led to higher prices for goods and services,
reduced profits for businesses, and growing unemployment. While Americans
continue to work hard, they find themselves falling ever further behind as
prices soar for gasoline, food and many other products they depend on.
Hamilton
proposes targeted incentives and stricter enforcement of efficiency standards
for all vehicles produced in the U.S. He also believes government should take
an active role in promoting the development of clean biofuels. “Gasoline
consumption accounts for almost half of U.S. demand for oil”, says Hamilton.
“So, producing more fuel-efficient cars using a biofuel blend would go a long
way towards reducing demand for oil, as well as helping our struggling auto
industry survive.”
"A Comprehensive Energy Policy is a matter of National
Security", says Hamilton. “We cannot afford to continue on the path set by
the Bush administration, relying on Middle East oil and loans from China. We must find alternative sources of
energy and use existing sources more effectively if we are to retain a competitive
role in an ever-changing world.”

Fallbrook,
California
Robert
tambien ayudar a sobrevivir nuestra luchadora industria automotriz.
Nosotros no podemos
