We work closely with a number of scientists in IGIB and outside. Some of these interactions are formalized through collaborative project whereas others are free wheeling networks of people with similar interests. Samir Brahmachari, Ph.D.
Director-General, CSIR
Our lab is
involved in validating computational findings made by SKB's group.
Currently we are experimentally validating the anti-HIV role of human
microRNAs, discovered through bioinformatics. Ruth Luthi-Carter, Ph.D. Assistant Professor, EPFL, Lausanne Ruth's Lab at EPFL, Lausanne is engaged in molecular study of polyglutamine diseases (such as Huntington's disease), and the normal function and dysfunction of the basal ganglia (particularly the striatum). We are working together to understand common gene expression changes and mechanisms in Spinecerebellar Ataxia 17 and Huntington's disease. http://lngf.epfl.ch Souvik Maiti, Ph.D. Scientist, IGIB Souvik is a biophysicist with diverse interests ranging from secondary structure of DNA, small RNA interaction, modified nucleic acids and application of nanoparticles in biology. We are working together to understand biological effects of nanoparticles using gene expression profiling. http://sites.google.com/a/rnabiology.org/souvik Vinod Scaria, MBBS. Scientist, IGIB Vinod is a medico pursuing his Ph.D at IGIB. He is involved in the computational aspects of the small RNA project, besides being a sounding board for many half-baked ideas. http://vinodscaria.rnabiology.org Mugdha Gadgil. Scientist, NCL Mugdha's research interests are in protein expression and engineering, but she finds time to help us with microarray data analysis. Chetan Gadgil. Scientist, NCL We are fiddling around with transcriptional rates, TBP-DNA binding and so on in the hope of getting a methematical insight into regulation of gene expression. Sridhar Sivasubbu Scientist, IGIB Next door neighbour who introduced us to Zebrafish. We work together on several aspects of small RNA biology Vani Brahmachari Professor, Delhi University Small RNA biology, specially in the context of development is an overlapping area of interest. She is also a valuable critic of our work. |
