Renovo: to renew, restore

Renovo Ministries was born from a need. Two Christian students from Bloomington, Indiana found that local soup kitchens did not serve lunch on Sundays. Through prayer, the Holy Spirit’s guidance, devotion of a group of students, and a location provided by a local church, they began serving the meal no one else offered. Their influence in the church community grew, and they soon became a ministry of Evangelical Community Church. Renovo Ministries now offers volunteers several opportunities to serve their community through a lunch for the homeless serving anywhere between 60 and 120, and a strong outreach to underprivileged kids in Bloomington.  Through prayer, outreach, active relationships with existing ministries, and relationships with those they serve, Renovo is devoted to sharing the gospel of Christ. God's been moving like crazy in this ministry! Our heart is to provide ways for students to actively live out their faith in Jesus.Those involved can use gifts of evangelism, media design, cooking, finances, leadership and most importantly, prayer.This is an amazing way to share the love of Christ to those who never or very rarely receive His love from others. God is not only using us to feed physically, but spiritually as well. As a ministry of the church, Renovo is a way for the Body of Christ to answer Christ’s call to go and make disciples within in their local, national, and global community. 

Since its conception in 2006, Renovo has been through many changes in structure.  As a ministry that started off serving every weekend, we now serve every second week of the month while other churches share the load.  Whenever there is a fifth week of the month, all of the churches involved combine efforts.  Please view the calendar to see a detailed layout.
