 As with most facilities aboard Defiant Class Starships, the Crew Quarters are stripped-down versions of their counterparts aboard larger Starships. As on many other classes of Starships, lower-ranking crew are required to share quarters. On the USS Dauntless, these shared quarters are even more cramped than on most classes of vessel.Each cabin is fitted with four bunks, a desk with a computer terminal, a replicator and four lockers with enough storage space to house several uniforms and a few personal items. Privacy is a relative term to the crews of Defiant Class Starships, and it is often a significant adjustment to the cramped living style on board. Having to share ablutionary facilities with several other nearby cabins is also a difficulty, but also helps to build a sense of camaraderie amongst the crew. For this reason, Enlisted Personnel and Junior Officers on the USS Dauntless frequently seek advancement through rank promotions and assignment to positions of greater authority, so as to enjoy the relative luxury that the Officers' Quarters provide. |
