Big Day Out in Reffley Wood

Sunday 22nd November

11am –3pm

 

The Reffley Wood Volunteer Group will be combining creative and woodland maintenance activities on this day. Come along and spend some quality time with your family or with new friends in a beautiful calm natural environment. All welcome!

 

Activities planned:

We’re going on a bear hunt through the wood

(real bears may be spotted!)

Teddy bears picnic (bring a picnic and a bear!)

Charcoal burning

Coppicing (sturdy shoes essential; children MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult due to sharp tools)

‘Extracting timber using a horse’ demonstration (tbc)

Locations will be signposted from Sandy Lane and Peckover Way entrances.

 

Join the Reffley Wood Volunteer Group. It’s free, fun, friendly and will help to keep you fit. All sorts of roles possible, from organising events to chopping trees or just helping to care for  the wood in whatever way you can.
