Introduction to Sub-Accounts

In the OnlineTesting system, you can create as many sub-accounts as you would like.  You may want to create sub-accounts for plants, locations, or groups of examinees.  Simply put, you can use sub-accounts to help organize a group of examinees and administrators.

Who can work in sub-accounts?

Only account administrators have the ability to create, manage, and work in sub-accounts.  Test administrators and proctors can only work within their own account and cannot access sub-accounts.  Refer to the table of user permissions for more information.

In addition, sub-accounts allow for organization of users.  In the diagram below, the account administrator in ABC Company has created two sub-accounts Plant #1 and Plant #2.  The ABC Company account administrator can perform work (assign tests, view results, etc) within ABC Company, Plant #1, and Plant #2.

Administrators in Plant #1 or Plant #2 can only perform work in their respective accounts.  For example, the Plant #1 administrator can not perform work in Plant #2 or in ABC Company.  But they can perform work and access Plant #1.

Simply put, sub-accounts do not have access to their parent account or siblings.  They can only access their information.

Accessing sub-accounts

You can switch between sub-accounts in any of the Administration pages by clicking on the name of the sub-account.

All operations that you can perform in a regular account can be performed in a sub-account including assigning tests, viewing assignments, viewing results, and managing administrators.  In order to perform these operations in a sub-account, simply select the sub-account from the account hierarchy and perform your task as usual.
