Getting Started Guide

A Brief Overview

Our system has a three step process to conduct testing: Assigning Tests to Examinees, Proctoring Tests, and Viewing Test Results. This guide is walk-through that explains all three steps.

Logging In as Administrator

You have recently purchased online tests and are now ready to give a test to an examinee.

The first thing you need to do is login to the Online Testing system.  You can do this by clicking the link, Online Testing System, at the bottom of our website, www.ramsaycorp.com.

Once you are on the Online Testing Login page, enter your Login ID and password that were emailed to you when you registered. Press the Login button.  (If you misplaced your login information, click on the Forgot your password? link to have it emailed to you.)

If this is your first time using the online testing system, you will be prompted to verify your user information, change your password, and agree to our copyright agreement.

Press the Save button to continue.

In the future you will not be prompted to enter this information with each login.

Assigning a test to an Examinee

Below is your administrator Homepage. From here you can assign tests to examinees, start the test for the examinee (proctoring), and view the completed test results.

The homepage shown below indicates that you have 20 Mechanical Aptitude tests available to be assigned to examinees. (Your home page will reflect all tests that you have purchased. If no tests are listed, please call our office at 412-257-0732 to confirm your order.)

Press the Assign Tests link to begin assigning a test to an examinee.

Shown below is the Assign Tests page. We will show you how to assign one test to one person. (For help assigning multiple tests to multiple examinees, see the Assigning Tests instructions page)

Step 1 - First select the test you want to use by checking the box next to the test name. (All purchased tests and unused quantities will be listed here.)

Step 2 - create a new examinee by clicking on the New Examinee radio button, and typing in his or her name. (Later, this person will be listed in the existing test taker list, and you could select him from the list for future exams.)

Step 3 - press the Finish button to finish assigning the test to your examinee.

The next screen is a summary page of the assignment you just made. Each examinee is assigned a unique User ID and password which can be used to log in manually.  If you are testing immediately, you can simply click the Start Testing link to log on as Bob James. Otherwise, you can proctor the exam from your homepage.

Proctoring the Exam (Giving the test)

We will start the testing process for the examinee by using the homepage to log him or her into the system. On this page you will see a listing of examinees who have pending assignments (tests that have been assigned but have not been started.)

Login as yourself (the administrator) on the computer the examinee will be using to take the test. The homepage will show his pending assignment (as shown in the image below). Then click the Start Testing link next to Bob James' name to log him in to the online testing system on that computer. (Each person must be logged in separately on the computer he will be using to take the test.)

Now Bob James can begin testing.

The next screen indicates that Bob James has been logged in with the role of examinee. Please verify that this is the correct user. Then have him type in any additional data that you would need in the Gender/Race/Birthdate section, or he can check the box to decline.  Make sure he checks the copyright agreement box, and presses the Save button as shown in the image below.

On the following screen, press the Begin button to start the testing process as shown in the image below.

After reading the next screen (shown below), have him press the Begin Test button to move on to the test directions, practice exercises and the actual test. If the test has separate sections (as does our Combined Basic Skills), each section would be listed here, and he would be brought back to this page before starting each section.  If the test is timed, he will be logged out of the system when the time expires, or he has the option of exiting the test earlier.

Viewing the Test Results (Scores)

Only Account Administrators and Test Administrators can view test results. (For more information about permissions, see the table of user permissions.)  To view the test results, first log in as yourself (Account Administrator). Your homepage will show which tests have been completed in the last 24 hours. Click on the View Results link next to the examinee's name (shown in the image below) to view his or her test results. (Press View All Results to see those which have been completed more than 24 hours ago)

Below is an example of an Individual Scoring Report. Press the Print button to print a copy of the report.  For help in setting cut scores and using the various summary reports, see our FAQ's.
