Dear Parents and Students,

We think that it’s going to be a good summer for reading. The English department is not assigning a particular text for summer reading and there will be no summer reading test. Instead, we are encouraging students to read widely--for enjoyment and also for expanding their understanding of the world we live in.

To help in that endeavor, we thought we would share some summer reading suggestions with you. We've created a list of recommendations from the English department. Although students are not required by their English teacher to read a particular book this summer, we hope they will read something, or many things, either from this list or of their own choosing.
