Flash - PD Workshop for Upper Primary and Secondary Educators
Flash is not only a versatile industry-standard animation package, but it also offers enormous possibilities for making immersive and creative interactive media. And while the program can be used to create incredibly complex and time-consuming multimedia pieces, the good news is that the basics can be learned fairly quickly - and with Flash, even a little bit of knowledge can go a long way.
Day 1 ~ Learn the fundamentals of Flash drawing and animation techniques. Create a shot of a car driving past a scrolling background, and begin a short animation of a character performing a line of dialogue that you record.
Day 2 ~ Complete the lip-synch exercise and be introduced to basic interactivity in Flash - creating buttons, scripting and navigation.
Facilitator – Mr Terry Oberg
Terry Oberg has taught in the Animation department at the Southbank Institute of Technology since 2000, where he specializes in Flash animation. He is a freelance animator and a former President of the Queensland Animators group.
