I am so proud of our kids! We rocked field day. What a lot of talent we have. We were so tough during tug-of-war. Yay, for the small but might team!!! |

I am so excited about the K'nex building our class is doing! They are learning about simple machines in a creative, hands on way. So far we have had cranes, teeter totters, elevators, ships, flag poles, block and tackle, fishing rods, and even a pair of tweezers made. I will continue to post videos on the site every few days to show you the talent our kiddos have. Many students have expressed interest in finding out more about K'nex. Try this link to their site for more information. |

One of the hardest forms of writing for young writers is the Imaginative Narrative. It is very easy to lose sequence and confuse our audience as we write this type of story. We have been taking it slowly, doing lots of small steps and modeling of the process. Author, R.L. Stine has a great program that we are using during this learning process. One thing students are learning is how to incorporate real life experiences into their writing. We are now getting ready to begin writing our original Imaginative Narratives, hopefully you will recognize some family adventures in this essay.

| Our most current math unit is on graphing. Students are learning to read graphs, organize the information and create them. This unit will culminate in a graphing project in which students will create a survey question, gather information, graph it and share the results with the class. As soon as it is assigned I will post the due dates on the calendar.
