Scientific Research Looking east, shortly before sunrise, the red-orange colors through the clouds gives a reflecting image off Colabaugh Pond. Sunrise gets its red color from the dust particles in the air. The time of the year also effects the colors. This picture was taken in the fall. Relevance Colabaugh Pond is a natural pond that drains into the Croton Resevoir. It is a home for wild life such as turtles, fish, frogs, snakes, geese and wild turkeys. There is also hawks, owls, bats along with coyotes and different kinds of foxes. Not including the many deer! Other Comments Its a nice surprise to sometimes wake up in the morning to look at a view like this! |
