On this page, we make some of the data & models available we are working on. Hope you find them useful. CLIMATEACTIONTRACKER.ORG A sobering new assessment by the "Climate Action Tracker" of the emission commitments and pledges put forward by industrialized and developing countries for the Copenhagen climate negotiations shows that the world is headed for a global warming of well over 3°C by 2100. Carbon dioxide concentrations are projected to be over 650 ppm, with total GHG concentrations close to 800 ppm CO2 equivalent. From these numbers, there is at least a one in four chance of exceeding a warming of 4°C. This "Climate Action Tracker" is an independent science-based assessment, which tracks the emission commitments and actions of countries. The website www.climateactiontracker.org provides an up-to-date assessment of individual national pledges to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. This service is brought to you jointly with Climate Analytics and Ecofys. PRIMAP Team Project Leader: Claudine Chen. PRIMAP CAKE SLICER TOOL Given a global emission budget and path from now until 2050, how can this emission cake be shared between developed and developing countries? To get a quick answer, the PRIMAP team developed the easy to use and highly aggregated Cake Slicer tool. The PRIMAP Cake Slicer tool is freely available, without support and strictly for non-commercial purposes only. Download the tool here (MS Excel). Author: Joeri Rogelj & PRIMAP Team, December 2009. PRIMAP 2°C CHECK TOOL We provide a simple 2C Check spreadsheet tool (MS Excel) in order to quickly estimate the 2C exceedance probability of your own emission pathway. If you know the cumulative emissions between 2000 and 2050 of your emission pathway, you can query this tool for an illustrative central estimate and the range of 2°C exceedance probabilities. This tool is based on Figure 3 and S1 of our paper in Nature, 30th April 2009. This tool is free of charge, but strictly for non-commercial purposes only. Download here. Author: Malte Meinshausen & PRIMAP Team, April 2009. SIMCAP-EQW Large parts of the PRIMAP climate module build on SIMCAP, the SImple Model for Climate Policy Assessment. Here, you can download SIMCAP-EQW, a tool to create your own multi-gas emissions pathways for achieving user-defined climate targets. ANNEX I FACTSHEETS Back in 2004, we compiled detailed Annex-I factsheets with emission trends, Kyoto-targets, the effect of special land use provisions etc. These factsheets are published in Yamin & Depledge (2004), Cambridge University Press, and you can download them here. |
