Mission Statement: Prairie Pals Preschool provides an academic, social and spiritual program that will help children develop physically, emotionally, and cognitively. We provide an atmosphere that is conducive to children’s learning while building their faith, self-esteem and foundation for education.
Purpose: To provide an environment where children can get a head start in basic academic fundamentals while incorporating social, emotional and spiritual growth.
Goals: The program will ready children for Kindergarten by giving them the basic fundamental academic tools they need while nurturing their emotional and developmental needs. We also seek to provide our children with an age appropriate spiritual life, which celebrates the joy and wonder of life and God's creation. We achieve these goals with the employment of traditional and special educational systems and tools. We seek to develop the thinking and learning skills that will enhance a child's ability to reach full potential.
The advanced Pre-Kindergarten class extends the goals of the the program to include special attention to all of the goals of the state of Illinois Early Learning Project. This is a set of goals created by the Illinois Early Learning Council to coordinate pre-kindergarten and Head Start programs.
Facility: Prairie Pals Preschool is centrally located. We are on Wolf's Crossing Road between Route 34 and 30 ( Driving Directions). The school is located in our historic and beautiful country church, Oswego Prairie. We provide a maximum of space and smaller numbers in our classrooms. This makes for a low stress and open environment for the children. There is a fellowship hall and playground for the children's use.
Community: We seek to create a community of children and families who will share in the joy of being a part of Prairie Pals. By creating a network of communication and common experiences, we hope you will feel a sense of family. Thus, we have introduced a social network site, where you can contact other preschool parents and staff. Please email our director (director@prairiepals.org) for an invitation to join the social network site. You will also be able to instantly stay informed of all of the upcoming activities by checking the calendar page on the navigation link at the top of this page.
We hope you come by and pay us a visit. Office hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. until until 3 p.m., Friday, 9:00 a.m. until noon (summer hours are variable).
