Apparently a Disney executive recently quit his job and his ties with Disney, much to the bewilderment and dismay of Johnny Depp. Depp's only reason for auditioning for Jack Sparrow was because of his connection to this executive. While I don't think Depp has said it himself, many media sources are wondering if Johnny will participate in the fourth POTC movie now that his greatest supporter is gone from the project. BEFORE ANYONE PANICS, remember that Johnny Depp has not confirmed ANYTHING, and it's all just media speculation.

The Examiner has a cute article about famous pirates from various pirate movies. Of course the ever-popular POTC series had to have a mention:

TheCelebrityCafe has some details of the POTC event at Disney's D23 expo, including some new plot info:
"The fourth film will reportedly have Sparrow and Hector Barbossa meeting up in the newly founded New Orleans, and then setting sail together in search of the Fountain of Youth."

According to WorstPreviews.com, the storyline for Pirates of the Caribbean 4 has been confirmed. Here's an excerpt from the article:
"Geoffrey Rush previously mentioned that he believes the fourth "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie would follow Jack Sparrow and Captain Barbossa on a quest to find the fountain of youth. Hollywood-Elsewhere has now confirmed with its sources that the fountain of young plotline is exactly what the new movie will focus on, adding that there will be a Captain Nemo-type villain utilizing new-style technology."
