How to install and play the game

Q: What do I need to do to play this game?

A: This game can currently only be played on the Facebook platform. If you do not already have a Facebook account, you need to create an account by clicking on this link: http://www.facebook.com/

What are the differences between the Pro Players Club and the Free version?

Q: I see it is possible to purchase a subscription of the game, called "Pro Player Club" version, what are the differences between the Pro version and the Free version?

You can GO PRO and access the additional features by clicking on the GO PRO button in the main menu of the game.

The game does not load

Q: The game does not load. I have tried upgrading my Flash Player but it does not change anything.

A: If you are having issues loading the game, please try the following:

If you are using Internet Explorer (IE):

Open the 'Tools' menu
Select 'Internet Options'
Under 'Browser History ', click 'Delete'
Under 'Temporary Internet Files', click 'Delete Files'
Click 'Close', then 'OK'
Try launching the game again, this will force your browser to re-download it

If you are using Mozilla Firefox:

Open the 'Tools' menu
Select 'Clear Private Data'
Untick all options except 'Cache'
Click 'Clear Private Data Now'
Try launching the game again, this will force your browser to re-download

How to invite friends

Q: How do I invite my friends to play the game?

A: There are several methods to invite your friends to play the game:

On the main game screen (with the large 'Play' button), click on 'Invite'
At any point while you are playing the game or viewing Brain Profiles, you can click on the text "Invite Friends" at the bottom of the page
On the main application page (http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=8827826004) you can select the text on the right hand corner; here you can either send a message to your friends or post the game link as an item in your personal Facebook Profile.

The game does not load when I access it on AOL

Q: I am connecting through AOL and the game is not loading.

A: Please try one of the following proposed solutions:

Try using IE browser instead of AOL. Go to Start menu -> Programs -> Internet Explorer
Try using Firefox. If you don't have this already, you can download it from: http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/products/firefox/
Clear your private data from the browser's cache:

If you are using Internet Explorer (IE):

Open the 'Tools' menu
Select 'Internet Options'
Under 'Browser History ', click ' Delete'
Under 'Temporary Internet Files', click 'Delete Files'
Click 'Close', then 'OK'
Try launching the game again, this will force your browser to re-download it

If the above fails, try these other tricks:

Brain Types

Q: Is it possible to see a list of all achievable brain types?

A: These are the different brain types that you can achieve by playing the game:

World Rank Percentile

Q: What does world rank percentile mean? How is it calculated?

A: The percentiles go from 0 (worst) to 99 (best). This shows you where you are with relation to all other users in the world - for example;
if your percentile is 92 then you are in the top 8% of users. (Specifically, you are in the top 8% but not in the top 7%.) You can also think of this as the percentage of all users that you are smarter than, so a percentile score of 92 means you are smarter than 92% of all users.

Is it possible to view rankings by country?

Q: I would like to see how I rank compared to other people in my country. Is it possible?

A: This is possible. However, you need to be a member of the appropriate Facebook Network for that country. You can join a Network from the main Facebook site by selecting: 'Account -> Networks''. Write your country's name in the 'Network Name'' field and select 'Join Network'. Now when you go back to the game you can select your country in the menu just above the list of your friends Monthly Top 10.

Once you have joined a Facebook Network, it will be visible from within the game.

Please make note that at the current time you can only see scores from your regional network, ie if you have joined a university or work network you will not be able to see scores for these networks through the game. The list of Networks we do support can be found here: http://www.facebook.com/networks/networks.php?view=geographies (do not switch tabs as we only support the regional networks)

What are the different icons used in the game?

Q: What are the different icons that are used in the game, is there a list available?

A: There are a range of different icons used in the game, in particular for the balance and shape order games. Below you will see a full list of the icons as well as the names for each of these.

Playing individual mini-games

Q: Is it possible to play mini-games separately from the main game?

A: It is not possible to play mini-games separately from the main game

My score does not save

Q: Having played a game I am seeing the following message; "There seems to be something wrong with your score" - what does it mean?

A: If you receive this error it can be due to one of our anti-cheating mechanisms. Generally when you receive this error it is because our systems indicate that your system clock is slower than normal and therefore it is being flagged in our systems as you have an advantage. For example you could get 70 seconds instead of 60 seconds for each mini-game

There are various reasons which your system clock could be slow, the most likely case is that you have some program on your machine that you are unaware of (spyware for example). It could also be that your system battery is low.

To check if spyware is one of the reasons for the slow-down in your system-clock you can download Adaware an anti-spyware program for free: http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php

My latest score does not show in my friends pyramid

Q: I have just achieved a new high score. However, when I go to my friend's profile page and view the profile box for the game, the pyramid displays my old high score

A: The profile box (pyramid) is updated on your friends profile only when they play the game. The next time your friend plays the game, your latest high score will be displayed in their profile box. You need to get your friends playing! ;)

A: At the bottom of your profile page you can find these icons, in the following order:

Ranking amongst your friends
The number of games you have played
Your world percentile ranking
The number of your friends that are also playing the game
The category you are best at
