Scales
–    Pentatonic and Blues Scales (ALL –picked randomly) with swing rhythm and triplet rhythm (3).
–    Major and Minor Scales (all – picked randomly)
–    A Dorian Scale

Songs
-    Rakes of Mallow (as written)
-    Home on the Range
-    Song of your choice from TAB
-    Minuet in G up to 1st Ending (finger picking)

Theory Assignment

-    Rewrite Rakes of Mallow using TAB on a different Fret but with the same notes.


EACH WEEK YOU WILL BE TESTED ON ONE OF THE ITEMS
 FROM THE GOAL LIST ABOVE.

Students will answer the following question in paragraph form.
 
Your essay should be a five-paragraph essay with an Introduction, three body paragraphs and conclusion.

QUESTION:
What does it take to succeed on guitar? Within you essay please define your definition of success.
 
Students will peer edit in class, revise using HSPA edit symbols and write a final draft.
