CONCERT BAND GOAL: Concert Band Class is designed to allow students to explore and perform many compositions and provides opportunity to develop and refine their performance skills.
OBJECTIVES: Course will stimulate the interest, enjoyment and appreciation for good Concert Band Music through group and individual participation. This performing group is designed to challenge the interest and ability of the students.
COURSE CONTENT: Concert Band Class will provide extensive experience in the field of instrumental performing for the Winter and Spring Concert Season. Each class session will provide opportunity for warm-up and rehearsal for upcoming performances. As part of training experience, students will be expected to participate in each scheduled performance. Performances will include concerts, assemblies and public performances. Students are expected to accept the responsibility to participate in these performances as well as in extra rehearsals necessary for their preparation.
ENSEMBLES CLASS GOAL: Ensembles Class is designed to allow students to explore and perform many compositions and provides opportunity to develop and refine their performance skills.

COURSE CONTENT: This class will provide students with the opportunity to perform in a small or solo setting. Students may explore new instruments or expand on their current instrument. Students will rehearse during each class session for the upcoming recitals. Students will be expected to perform in front of a small audience three times each marking period.
MARCHING BAND CLASS GOAL: Marching Band Class is designed to allow students to explore and perform many compositions and provides opportunity to develop and refine their performance skills in a Marching and Concert Band.
OBJECTIVES: Course will stimulate the interest, enjoyment and appreciation for good Marching and Concert Band Music through group and individual participation. This performing group is designed to challenge the interest and ability of the students.

Each class session will provide opportunity for warm-up and rehearsal for upcoming performances. MUSICAL SOUND, LIGHTING, AND RECORDING GOAL: Musical Sound Lighting and Recording will provide opportunity for students to experience the technical aspects of a music production including sound, lighting and recording.
OBJECTIVES: Course will provide opportunity learn how to use equipment used in a musical production. Students will develop and refine skills to control all aspects of a musical production.
COURSE CONTENT: Musical Sound, Lighting and Recording Class will provide students with extensive experience in the technical aspects of a music production. Students will work hands on using state of the art equipment and software. Students will have the opportunity to learn about and work a sound board, lighting board and recording software. Students will gain an understanding of the needs of a musician and develop an ear and eye as a musical sound, lighting and recording engineer. As part of training experience, students will be expected to participate in each scheduled performance. Performances will include concerts, assemblies and public performances. Students are expected to accept the responsibility to participate in these performances as well as in extra rehearsals necessary for their preparation. As with any class assessment will be based on tests quizzes, preparation for performances, performances and writing assignments.
MUSIC APPLICATION IN THEORY AND HISTORY GOAL: Music application in theory and history is designed to allow students to explore aspects of music composition and music history with technology to enhance the student involvement.
OBJECTIVES: Course will provide opportunity for music students to continue their education in music. Students will learn Music Theory, History and the class wile incorporate music technology.
COURSE CONTENT: This course is for students interested in learning more about music. Students will be able to and how to apply it to the music world of today. Students will explore music theory and history with the aid of state of the art music computer applications.
GUITAR WORKSHOP GOAL: Guitar workshop is designed to allow students to explore aspects of music through the guitar.
OBJECTIVES: Course will provide opportunity for music students to continue or begin their education on the guitar. Students will learn Music Theory as well a basic guitar technique
COURSE CONTENT: This course is for students interested in learning how to play the guitar. Students will explore music through the guitar using basic music theory and guitar techniques. Students will have opportunity to play various genres of music on the guitar. |
