| Most colleges
require the SAT or ACT. Be sure to check the college's website that you
are applying to to find out which test they prefer. Students generally
take the SAT or ACT twice in during their junior year and once in the
fall of their senior year. The test should be taken as soon as your
math class is complete. For example, if you are taking Algebra 3 in the
fall semester and are not taking a math in the spring, you should take
the December and/or January SAT. If you are taking Algebra 3 in the
fall and Calculus in the spring, you should take one SAT in January and
another SAT in May or June.
Students should prepare for the test. Students can pick up practice materials in the guidance office or take a test prep course at Salem Community College.
