For Grade 11

The junior year is when the students should seriously begin examining their postsecondary options. Juniors should also take college tests, make college visits, and start searching for scholarships.

Your counselor will:

  • Continue to monitor academic progress.
  • Continue to encourage you to be involved in activities and to develop leadership skills.
  • Make sure that you are registered for the PSAT (during the month of October)
  • Think about and explore college options.
  • Have you register for the ACT and/or SAT.
  • Encourage you to make college visits.
  • Ensure proper selection of courses for senior year.
  • Update activities and awards for transcript.
  • Narrow your list of college choices
  • Start the Governor's school application
