SUMMIT Scholar Program

A Signature Program of Bowie High School

The Bowie High SUMMIT Scholar program is our most competitive and accelerated academic program.  It is a four-year course of study through which a select group of students (maximum:  60 students per grade level) follows a comprehensive curriculum combining accelerated Honors level and rigorous Advanced Placement course work.  This challenging course of study will provide students with a broad, general background in many academic areas at levels appropriate to highly academically gifted learners.  SUMMIT scholars will benefit from an intensive college preparatory and Advanced Placement experience within their SUMMIT classes and the Bowie High community.  The Program combines Honors, SUMMIT, and Advanced Placement courses yet remains an integral part of the high school community at Bowie; SUMMIT scholars do not comprise a school within a school.

SUMMIT Scholar Program Information Night for Interested 8th Graders and Families is Wednesday,  November 11, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the Bowie Center for the Performing Arts.

Come and hear about our rigorous pre-Advanced Placement program for Bowie's most motivated, independent learners -- meet SUMMIT instructors, coordinators, and students; learn about the application process and program expectations.
