Admissions Open House: Welcome prospective families and conduct school tours.
AIM (Advancing Ideas in Multi-Culturalism): Promotes multi-cultural events throughout school year. A place where differences and commonalities are acknowledged, understood and embraced for the purpose of learning to live together better.
All School Picnic: Plan and organize volunteers, refreshments and activities for welcome back to school celebration.
Arts Council: Parents supporting the visual and performing arts at Penn Charter.
Athletics Council: Parents supporting the Penn Charter Athletic Program. Foster activities to build school team spirit, promote spectator turn-out at games and organize volunteers to help with snacks, banners, etc.
Auction: Gala event featuring live and silent auctions to support the PC Annual Fund. Held every other year; the next Community Auction will be March, 2009. Carnival: Plan and staff annual spring school-wide afternoon of fun. Activities include games, rides, crafts, and food and refreshment stands.
Color Day: Organize volunteers, refreshment and white elephant booths during our annual field day meeting of yellow and blue.
Community Directory: Oversee mass distribution of Community Directories to Penn Charter families.
Drug and Alcohol Committee: The Community’s Committee on Alcohol and Drug Education works with the Administration to implement educational programs in all three Divisions on the subjects of alcohol and drug use and abuse. Our primary goal is to educate, and communicate with, students and parents in order to keep our children safe.
Family Visiting Day: Host visiting day events including signing-in and directing
parents and grandparents visiting their children’s classrooms. Friendly Parents Working Group: Help promote Quakerism in the PC Community.
Juried Art Show: Oversee Art Showcase including managing the selection of art, assisting with invitations and the opening night event, and running student tours. Held every other year; next show scheduled for November 2009.
Library: Volunteer a few hours a week to support the staff of our two libraries (US/MS and LS).
Lost and Found: Sort and organize items left at school so they can be reclaimed.
School Store: Volunteer a few hours a week to help in the school store.
Service Committee: Support the service mission of the school by helping to plan and organize service projects in the three Divisions.
Spring Plant Sale: Oversee plant sale including sorting pre-ordered plants and setting up a “plant store” to sell to students and families.
Stewardship: A new committee to support the school’s stewardship effort including recycling, conservation, landscaping and gardening initiatives.
Teacher Appreciation Day: Help to celebrate our outstanding teachers and staff by organizing a breakfast, lunch and special day.

Wrapping Paper Sale: Organize, sort and distribute orders from wrapping paper fundraiser held in September. Proceeds from sale underwrite the costs of student trips. |
