Binders

Dear Parents,

It is a pleasure to teach your children Spanish this year. Students will continue using binders during the lesson. They are a very important tool for the class, because help students retrieve the vocabulary studied in an efficient manner.

Students in K to 2nd are keeping their binders in class, but from 3 to 5th grade they are also able to take them home to finish an assignment, study or be ready for class. If your child is in the upper grades I would like to ask you to check your child's binder periodically.  Students have been working hard in order to have their binders updated and keep them organized.

Students' binders are evaluated based on organization and responsibility as follows:

1.   If their notebook is complete, very organized and always brings it to class.

2.   If their notebook is complete and moderately organized.

3.   If the notebook is not complete, disorganized, or has been lost.

4.   If a student loses his/her binder he or she is responsible to:

  1. Borrow the master copy from Señora Montero-Hricz, take it home, make the copies and bring it back to her as soon as possible.
  2. Place copies in a 3 hole punched binder.
  3. And bring it to school as soon as possible so he/she can continue working and not get behind from the rest of the class.

Upper grades 3-5: When you check your child's binder and it says, "please complete", that means that something is missing and needs to be completed.

It is important that, if students are absent for any reason, they return to school and check with their classmates about the work done during their absence.  They can come to me to collect any papers I handed out.

Also, please sign the students' binder every time I send it home, so I will know you have seen your child's work.  I believe it is important to communicate with you.  Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.  If you have any questions, please email me at: amhricz@webmail.penncharter.com and I will be happy to get back to you.

Sincerely,

Anabelle Montero-Hricz
