Math Basketball 09'

The following rules apply to our game…

•        Rules of the game:

•        Flip a coin to see who goes first.

•        Record the order of who will go 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th (this order may not be changed once set!)

•        Exchange score sheets.  Opponents keep score for each other.  Assign two time keepers.

•        Alternate between teams when taking turns (example- Bulls go first then Sixers, etc.)

•        If a player misses one, the other team must say incorrect.  In this case the point will not be allowed.  If there is a dispute it will be settled after the player completes the whole turn.  IF the error is not spotted by the opposing team then the team shooting cannot be penalized and the point counts.

One person from each team will keep score for the other team while they are “shooting.”

•        A player shoots by drawing a card with a number on it. They then will multiply that number by whatever they roll on the pair of die; they receive a point for each correct answer.

•        Each player has 60 seconds to get as many correct answers as possible. At the end of that time, the team captain records the score on the team score sheet and the overall team score in the total score column.

•        After each game, team members must then calculate their average points per game. They will record this information on a computer spreadsheet. At the end of the week, team members will graph their results.

•        Play like a good sport!  Remember the ultimate goal is for all of us to improve our multiplication skills.  If you can't compete with good sportsmanship then you won’t participate.

•        Be a supportive teammate!  Everyone needs a cheering section.
