4^th grade Homework

Expectations and Responsibilities

(weekly assignments listed below)

Typically, a week of 4^th grade homework will include a reading and math assignment each school night. Writer’s Notebook entries and either cursive handwriting practice or spelling work are also assigned each week.

Each Monday, the students write homework assignments into a Penn Charter assignment book (Yellow spiral-bound booklet).

The students are responsible for collecting the necessary items (books, papers, journals, etc) and packing them into their school bags Mondays through Thursdays. Occasionally, there is homework assigned over the weekend. E.g. science, missed assignments from homeroom, etc.

We encourage the students to complete their work at home independently. We expect that the adults are NOT sitting and guiding their children through each step of the work. Rather, we would like to know from the students how they complete the work by themselves.
