Long Term Environmental Vision for Deepwater Exploration and Production Forum
Date: November 20, 2008, HARC campus, The Woodlands, http://www.harc.edu
This forum brought together the people and programs involved in the development of ultra-deep O&G resources to address those environmental issues unique to this deepwater marine world. The RPSEA Forum was hosted by the Houston Advanced Research Center (HARC) and the Petroleum Engineering Department at Texas A&M University along with the Global Petroleum Research Institute (GPRI), A&M Sea Grant and Texas A&M University Galveston (TAMUG).
Workshop objectives:
Define the specific offshore systems to be discussed. Identify key problems. Estimate importance of possible solutions
Audience and value proposition for their attendance.
The forum is for industry and stakeholders in deepwater E&P operations. The meeting represents convergence of ideas – what are the problems? Can they be solved in realistic time frame? What assets can be identified to address problem (people, $$, time)
Workshop outcome.
High graded list of problems. A roll call list of “engaged” companies and people (See meeting notes attached.) |
