| Usually "office" type stuff: rich-text, spreadsheets and presentations. Not to be confused with shared files. Shared documents can be viewed and edited in the browser. However, you can't take them with you when you go offline (you can export, but then your edits are not tracked). Shared docs services often provide version control and document discussion facilities.
