The Riddle of Penncroft Farm by Dorothea Jenson

I chose The Riddle of Penncroft Farm by Dorthea Jensen as the summer reading selection for my incoming eighth grade students for two reasons. First of all, it is a fun, easy reading selection complete with a mystery that they will enjoy. Secondly, the book correlates with their American Nation course for next year. The setting of the story is right where their course begins. I also plan to have lessons at the beginning of the year related to the text.
