7th Grade German Culture Project

Here are all the resources and videos you'll need to do this project.  All links open in a new window or new tab. 

Letter to Parents (Word Doc)

Save and share your websites with Delicious:

Delicious Account Setup (2:00) - What Delicious is, and how to set up your account
Please email Frau when you are done making your Delicious account, let her know you're done and include your ID number:  elf@oregon.k12.wi.us  or  fraufakler@gmail.com

Day 1 in the lab - Use FIREFOX for this project!  Start > Common Apps > Mozilla Firefox

You and your partner will use Wikispaces to make a Wiki page about your topic:

Wikispaces Tutorials:

Create Your Account (0:49) - Create your account in Wikispaces

Join the Wiki (1:29) - Join the Wiki you're assigned to - German2, German7, or German8

Make a New Page (0:55) - Create a new page to get started - ONLY ONE MEMBER OF THE GROUP SHOULD DO THIS!  If you see your topic in the left navigation bar...your partner already did this.

Finish off Delicious with these two videos:

Adding Toolbar Buttons (1:21) - How to add toolbar buttons to Firefox - make sure you do this on your login at school.

Adding Sites to Delicious (2:35) - How to add and manage your favorite web sites

Remember, your Delicious login = your ID#  Your password = school password+your initials

Now save at least 5 good websites for your project!
Days 2 and 3 in the lab

Remember - Frau and I can see every change made on these Wikis and who made the change.  Please stay on your group's wiki page and do not mess with other group's pages!

Wikispaces Tutorials:

Communicating With Your Partner (1:42) - Use the Wiki Discussion page, school email, and/or Delicious.  TALK TO FRAU OR MR. SCHMITZ IF YOU HAVE COMMUNICATION ISSUES WITH YOUR PARTNER!

Make sure you communicate with your partner - share ID#s, talk about what RAFT you want to do, decide "who is doing what"

GO TO YOUR WIKI PAGE - THEN TO THE DISCUSSION TAB!

Taking Notes on the Wiki (1:55) - Take notes right on your Wiki.  Copy and paste info from sites, be sure to include the web address.

Each person in the group needs to copy/paste info from 3 different sites, and find 25 different facts each - USE DIFFERENT COLORS THAN YOUR PARTNER!

Day 4 in the lab and beyond...

Remember - Frau and I can see every change made on these Wikis and who made the change.  Please stay on your group's wiki page and do not mess with other group's pages!

Three Then Me (word doc) - print this if you need to, or get it from Frau in class.  This is due Monday, Mar. 30th for black and Tuesday, Mar. 31st for orange

Each person in the group needs to highlight 25 different facts each in the rough and final drafts.
