This we should do in the short term: - Set up RSS feed related to topics (i.e. Peru and India)
Front page elements to have: - Links for the team (mail, wiki, Basecamp, etc?)
- "Copy this organization" blurb somewhere (neat idea!)
- Link to partners/ a partners page
- twitter updates
- links to current projects (including relevant graphics, photos)
- a paypal donate option?
- have only category "front-page" posts make it to this page?
Redesigning the website
Things we need to look at
- The homepage
- Logo?
- Like the simplistic look the site has although
there seems to be too much white space
-
-
Calendar and Funding links are in an awkward
spot and can be put somewhere else to better highlight them (if that’s what we
want)
-
Don’t really like that the home page has every
article/blog post on it. Maybe we could relocate blogs to the sidebar? And have
information regarding our currect project centered OR if you really wanted to
showcase the blogs we could show just the last few recent ones and then store
the rest somewhere - Pictures!
- The header
- The sidebar
- We should have better ABOUT copy in the sidebar
- Add a list of the most recent blog post titles
- The about page
- The team page
- We should update the team page with the newest team members!
- The project page
- The wiki
- 1. add pictures showing similar projects and/or what it's like on the ground
in San Pablo, for emotional impact 2. maybe different projects should have their own section on the website, like a page for San Pablo and one for Haiti 2. add an explanation of the clean water system and technology that we intend to use in San Pablo 3. add a section introducing the partner organizations and giving a bit of background on them 4. add a clear explanation of the students role in the project, and encourage people to get involved 5. donation link, perhaps money could go to Green Empowerment? or maybe link to The Point? 6. some video, introducing ODA and/or talking about the clean water problem in less developed countries 7. add to the section for team members, pictures and a little "bio" or blurb for each person saying a bit about themselves and why they got involved with this and that kind of thing 8. this might be harder, but some kind of fundraising tracker that visually shows how close we are to raising all the money needed...there might be a downloadable widget out there that you could use, just a thought.
