Sometimes we think that today's church is the first to first battle over new directions. When we look at Luke's history of the early church, we learn that this is not so. Once Gentiles were invited into the church, many of God's earlier commands were challenged. an example is circumcision. A command in Genesis, some thought it was no longer needed. How did they resolve this? What does this say to us about our denomination's recent actions on gays and ordination?
