"Hungry? Come Be Filled!"
Hunger is so simple isn't it? You get hungry. Therefore you eat. Problem solved. But Jesus was a crazy, radical, Son of God guy! He fasted for 40 days in the desert. While we might not be that out of our minds, our youth are doing 30 hours this weekend and that's crazy for us. Perhaps it's time to eat. Perhaps you've been unintentionally fasting spiritually and it's time to drink friom the cup that never runs out. Jesus was tempted after he had fasted because that was when he was most vulnerable. We can learn to be ready to take on temptations when we are most vulnerable too. God is waiting for you. Are you hungry? Come be filled!

"Christ Cross, Our Cross"
The contrast between the covenant promise to Abraham and the Covenant work that Jesus did on the cross seem very different. And yet they are linked. How is that? All Abraham had to do was believe that God would fulfill his desires for land and a powerful family. But Jesus suffered and died to fulfill our desires for wholeness and salvation. i believe that both of them offer us lessons we need to follow.
