When I wrote this sermon title last week, I was unaware of the flooding. Yet the floods make us feel so vulnerable and the baptism of the Lord is about God claiming us when we are vulnerable.

We haven't wrestled with Paul in awhile. Paul states provocatively, "Everything is permissible for me - but not everything is beneficial". The good old King James said it stronger, "All things are lawful unto me..." How can all things be lawful for us? Doesn't God say that some things are forbidden? What about the Ten Commandments, for Pete's sake! How can all things be lawful for us?
