OLD SCOTCH LOCAL DERBY (aka "a day on the main")

Saturday, 13th December

On December 13 from 1pm at the College's Main Oval, the Scotchies (1stXI vs 2ndXI) will battle it out under a setting of marquees, music, food and drinks.

After the disappointment of a washed out Derby last year, the anticipation of this highly anticipated showdown is reaching fever pitch.

Even the most seasoned cricket lover is buzzing with an anticipation not seen since the spice girls came to Australia in January 1998, for a promotion-only tour that saw them venturing to Highpoint for a screening of their movie Spice World

Full details will be announced soon, but gourmet BBQ, beer, wine and champagne will be on offer, and relaxed but classy summer wear will be the theme of the day.

Afterwards it will be onto the Bridge Hotel to kick on the festivities.

Any enquiries about this event should be directed to the Social President - pbutler@oldscotchcc.com.au

Subject: A DAY ON THE MAIN!

Boys,

Tomorrow is shaping up to be an absolute cracker of a day and hopefully the weather is good!

Just a reminder to everyone that the game starts at 12.00pm tomorrow rather than the usual 1.00pm start.

Family, friends, wife's, girlfriends, mistresses are all encouraged to come tomorrow to create a really good atmosphere!

The teams for tomorrow read:

The Under 23's:
Tom Whitelaw - steady as ever and a tactical genius sure to have a few tricks up his sleave
Scott Haines - an up and down year both on and off the field but is peaking at all the right times
Nick Spargo - relieved of the gloving duties and ready to fire with his new "girlfriend" watching on
Angus Tummel - battling through a 6 year bout of OP, yet sure to clear the fence at least a few times
George Dick - batting superbly, bowling beautifully and kicking 3 in an AFL approved match..... is there anything he can't do?
Chris Wood - flawless technique and almost impenetrable...... unlike his women
Sam Lake - the youngsters trump card, a real mystery ball, could turn it square even at the WACA
John Crozier-Durham - fearless, determined, uncompromising and glides like a gazelle
Nich Hildebrandt - settled, unflappable and more importantly a bowler who is leading the batting averages
Hamish Taylor - built like a brick shithouse, refuses to get messy on or off the pitch
Tom Slattery - ciggies, VB's, utes, munts at cricket - Gobbler the genuine the Aussie bloke
Andrew Mitchell - the blonde assasin, he wont be falling in to the friend zone on Saturday!

The Old Timers:
Bill "I can't back it up 2 weeks in a row" Snaddon
Tim " I'll be seeing about a thousand balls tomorrow" Hosking
Simon "I'm the worst cricketer in my family" Dick
Will "I'm so much better than this league" Elliott
Rob "I'm 28, acting like a 20 year old" Ashton
Pat "I'm so jealous of Hildebrandt" Butler
Hugh "I just love Facebook couple shots" Thomas
James "I wish I was in the other team" Simon
Mark "I'm with Plugger" Griffith
Tim "do I bat or bowl" McCurdy
Ben "I write a gossip column" Doherty
Gary "I drink chicks drinks" Bennett

See you there tomorrow!
