Diddy Age: 24 Describe yourself as a cricketer: Extremely Talented Ambidextrous All Rounder that should be playing for Australia Favourite Movie: The Count of Monte Cristo, Anchorman & Cocktail with the Cruise Dog. However I would suggest that I am your typical movie nut, especially the tradional "chick flick" tear jerker... Favourite Band: A random selection from my favourites would be Stereophonics, The Zutons, Oasis & Keith Urban, however there is far too many to fully appreciate, except perhaps over a bottle of vintage wine Reasons for playing at OSCC: To refine my sledging skills Favourite Player at the Club: Gary Bennett – there is no better celebrator of a wicket Hopes for the season: Back to back baby yeeeeehhaaaaaa! ___________________

Name: Ben Doherty
Nicknames: Dohers, The Dog Age: 27 Describe yourself as a Cricketer: Ben is a Gemini who enjoys long, moonlit walks along the beach, the novels of Waugh (Evelyn, not Steve), Dickens and Benaud (yes, Richie) read aloud before an open fire, 1000-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets, and talking about his feelings. He is also a fan of the more hands-on elements of sheep-mulesing. This profile fails to address the issue of cricket, even in passing, and despite it being written in the third person, Ben actually wrote it himself. Favourite Movie: Ferris Bueller's Day Off - less a movie than a way of life Favourite Band: Radiohead (Hilda knows I love No Surprises) Reasons for playing at OSCC: condition of community service order (public urination is not a laughing matter children) Favourite Player at the Club: Chris 'Prez' Wood. I am, in equal parts, appalled and fascinated by his mesmerising 'leg-spinners' which demonstrate the leggies' black arts of dip and drift and turn in such minute quantities as to be invisible to even the most forensic examination. Hopes for the season: To get through an entire year without running myself out. ___________________

Name: Scott Haines Nicknames; Desmond, Dog, Textbooks Age: 22 Describe yourself as a cricketer: Going in at 1 Scott Haines was the symbolic heart of Old Scotch's steamrolling agenda last season which saw the premiership brought back to Glenferrie and the 2nd X1 marginally miss a finals birth. He was also simultaneously a cheerful throwback to more innocent times, appreciating the remarkable simple pleasures that Saturday afternoon cricket offers, and always played the game with a free spirit that often saw him hook opening bowlers over the boundary ropes before even the pitch itself had decided upon its pace and bounce.
Deriving his nickname 'textbook' for his elegant technique throughout his indoor cricket career, the same could be said of his outdoor cricket. Employing a high elbow, a minimal of footwork, a still head and perfect balance he often made 4th day, uncovered, slow wickets resemble the first day of a Les Burdett, Adelaide Oval 'belta'. He poked good balls into gaps and throttled most others, caring only for the scoreboard and never his average. As a bowler, he is a capable leg break bowler, never long out of the wickets when given an opportunity, but he is not the damaging attacking option he once was. In the field, a safe pair of hands and agility has seen him both roam dangerously in the covers and backward of point but also in catching positions. Favourite Movie; In the name of the Father
Favourite Band; Arctic Monkeys Reasons for playing at the OSCC; Teammates, love of the game, strong team to be involved in Aspirations for season; Team success ___________________

Favourite Movie: The Castle Favourite Band: All time- U2; Current- Kings of Leon; Pick me up song- Apple Eyes by Swoop Reasons for playing at OSCC: Was the only place that I thought I could get a game Favourite Player at the Club: Gaz Bennett. I have had the privilege to play with this bloke for nearly 10 years and he is like a good wine, he just gets better with age. He is still dominating this level of cricket despite the fact that no one in the competition is within 10 years of his age! I really enjoy being in the field and watching him steam in. Oh yeah and who could forget the hip and shoulder he delivered on Lamby from Trinity in the '03/'04 grand final when he dismissed him off the last ball of the first day....classic! Hopes for the season: For my boys in the 2nd XI to go that one step further this year and make the finals ___________________

Name: Chris Wood Nicknames: CJ, Woody, PacMan, Wooood Age: 22 Describe yourself as a cricketer: At my sublime best, I am a sight for the gods. Wristy, willowy and sinuous, I can match - sometimes even better - Sachin Tendulkar for strokeplay. My on-side game is comparable to my idol Mark Waugh, yet I am decidedly more assured on the off side and possess the rare gift of being able to hit the same ball to either side. Haven't quite managed the consistency that could have turned me into a batting great, yet I'm not far off. Nothing, though, has deterred me from tormenting my favourite opponents with silken strokes and piles of runs. Favourite Dresscode: Anything that starts with a Chino pant and ends with buttoned collar.
