Ladies Corner

WELCOME TO THE LADIES CORNER

As the cornerstone of any great cricket player, Old Scotch CC would like to welcome all friends, family & loved ones to join in the fun this summer.

Naturally we understand that most ladies don't find cricket the most exciting form of entertainment for their Saturday afternoon.

Thats why we have designated a number of 'female friendly' social events, and secured sponsorship from a fantastic place to start the night from in the Mt Erica Hotel.

Each Saturday night from 7.30pm, join us at the Mt Erica to kick of another classic night.

Ben Doherty and Patrick Butler perform an impromptu acoustic set for the ladies.

Ladies Corner Interview - Monique Andrew

For years now, Monique Andrew has been a prominent member of Melbourne’s inner eastern Social Circuit. After discarding the riff raff (P. Butler) she feels she has snagged the perfect guy, and quite possibly, THE ONE! OSCC Ladies Corner sat down with Ms Andrew to find out what it’s like dating OSCC’s Number 1 Web-Blogger…….

Q. Hi Monique, thanks joining us. Now to kick things off, how’s the relationship travelling?

Monique: Oh Hi Chris, thanks for having me, great to be here. We’re really happy at the moment to tell you the truth, I mean things couldn’t be better. You might have noticed but Nich and I like to talk about ourselves in a ‘WE” form. Like it’s not really that Nich or I have been doing things, it’s more that WE have been doing things. It makes us feel more as one and together that way.

Q. Wow, that’s really nice to hear. Nich in the past has been known as a bit of a loose cannon when he’s out on the town, fights, excessive drunkenness, getting locked up etc. How do you control this aspect of things?

Monique: It’s funny you mention that actually as it was something that I initially worried about. But it was really nice to hear Nich say the other day that he no longer wants to or even enjoys going out. He, sorry, I should say WE just like to stay in and watch movies really. If WE do go out it’s usually just to a little obscure but totally awesome unheard of band that only we can really appreciate and spend time alone together. Nights out on the town and ‘clubbing’ just don’t really appeal to such a serious relationship like ours.

Q. Yeah I understand… Now on to Cricket, do you enjoy the Cricket or is it all a bit boring and a dull for your liking?

Monique: Well you know me being one of he boys and all means that I just absolutely love Saturday’s at the Cricket. Beers, ciggies, pies and chewing the fat with the fella’s is what I’m all about.

Q. And your influence on Nich’s Cricket?

Monique: Well we’ve always worked on the theory that a ‘happy home helps Hilda’s Cricket’. It’s just a cute little thing we say to each other and it really seems to work. He came home to me after the Caulfield game and said “you know Mon, I probably wouldn’t of even survived that first ball if I weren’t so content with life with you….. ”  That was really touching. He often also says that being with me puts Cricket in to perspective and really helps him prioritise things.

Q. Well Mon, this really has been helpful and we thank you for your time. Last question, does Nich ever pass on any of his aspirations or goals for the year?

Monique: Well obviously he doesn’t set any goals without consulting me to check them first. But basically we sat down a few weeks ago to set out a few goals and his main aim is to get out of the 2’s and in to the 1sts. He pretends to not want to go up as to have an excuse as to his ordinary ability, it’s a common theme through all his sport really. He tries to make up for an appalling skill level and lack of talent by trying to convince others that he’s a ‘better bloke’ or part of a ‘better bloke team’. He’s really insecure about stuff like that and he cries to me a lot at home.

Q. Interesting, interesting. Anything else for us Monique?

Monique: Well before I go, I noticed you guys have a Picture Gallery on this outstanding website so I thought I would send a couple of my personal favourites in.
