"Is English your first language? If it is, your parents should ring Scotch and ask for the 20 grand they dropped on your education back" – Ben Doherty
For anyone who has read this site consistently for some time, they will have undoubtedly realised that many of the contributors to the site are not masters of the English language. It must be painful to watch us stuff up basic grammar such as ‘i before e but not after c’ and the difference between ‘threw the ball’ and ‘through the ball’, but now the time has come for us to LEARN.
For a while now we have had semi respected journalist Ben Doherty in our midst quietly critiquing and then viciously tearing apart our grammatical errors. Unfortunately, his formidable brain is being underutilised down at Herald Sun headquarters where the Collingwood weddings and dogs wearing hats won’t report themselves. However, ladies and gentleman we can now happily announce that Ben’s brain will not remain flaccid and unused! Thankfully, Ben has reluctantly acquiesced to our repeated requests to have unlimited access to the inner workings of the Doherty Mind. So get ready to add lexicon to your vocabulary boys and girls because we will leave no stone unturned to bring you the most thorough and professional Dictionary on the net.
From now on if you hear a word that you don’t understand pop it up here or email it to oldscotchcricket@hotmail.com and it will be sent on to Ben. For a full list of words you won’t understand we recommend reading Bens incomprehensible articles or listening to him speak.
It says bee and there's a picture of a bee on it!
