PRESIDENTS WELCOME
After the glorious nail biting finish to last year’s fiercely contested Grand Final against Old Xaverians, many could be forgiven for thinking that Old Scotch may be inclined to put its feet up and rest comfortably with two successive premierships squared safely away in the cabinet. However, as the season comes upon us for 2009/10, the revived Old Scotch juggernaut powers on, welcoming back familiar faces, whilst introducing some new ones as well to the mix. For Season 2009/10, the MCC competition continues to thrive with the inclusion of two new teams, Old Geelong Grammarians and Old Melburnians 2nd XI. SCOTCH CHASES GLORY
The Old Scotch Cricket Club is gearing up for another season as it attempts a 'three-peat' of premierships. Captain Coach Rob Ashton is optimistic about the season ahead. "The club is looking forward to season 2009-10. We know that other sides will come at us hard but we feel we are well prepared for the challenges that lie ahead.' Spiritual leader James 'Plugger' Simon will again look after the second team. In a seamless transition, Nich Hildebrandt replaces Chris Wood as President. The club thanks Chris for getting it back on track and looks forward to working with Nich.
