(no more than 15 pounds) Do Bring in your carry-on: Any prescription medications Purple Touring Choir t-shirt and a change of underwear A book, cards, puzzles to help pass the time Sweatshirt or sweater Travel pillow if you have room Ipods and MP3 players are allowed BUT we don't feel sorry for you if you lose them Don’t bring in your carry-on: Liquids (more than 2 oz) Any small containers of liquids need to be in a 1 quart zip lock bag, including medications. Anything sharp or flammable Don’t bring at all: Cell phones Hairdryers Valuables (jewelry, expensive electronics, etc) Spending Money $15-25 per day should be enough for a couple of lunches and souvenirs. You may give some of your child's spending money to his/her chaperone so your child doesn't spend everything at once. Singers should carry money in a neck or fanny pouch. The best way for your child to have access to Euros is for you to send a loaded ATM card with them. (AAA has them) Your child can then get cash (in Euros) directly from an ATM machine. Do not send Travelers checks. They are not widely accepted. Do not give your credit card to your child. Remember that chaperones will also have 45€/child to be used mainly for lunches. Electrical Adapters (mainly for adults traveling along) 220 -volt current is standard throughout Europe. You will need a simple plug adapter to plug in small electrical appliances and chargers. Adults: check to see if your appliance adapts to 110 -240 voltage. If your computer, shaver, video camera, or what-have-you is a multi-voltage model (and most newer ones are), all you’ll need for Germany/Austria is a plug adapter. If they don't have the required voltage range, best to leave them at home as you will need a converter to use them in Europe. (really not worth it) |
