Our Mission

The National Writing Project of Texas unites and supports highly qualified teachers, promotes research-based writing practices, and advances student success.

Welcome

Getting Started on the Google Group

If you're a Texas TC who still isn't a member of the Google Group discussion forum, then follow these steps to get started:

1.  Go to Google.  Click "More" at the top of the screen.  Select "Groups" from the menu.
2.  Next, click "Sign-in" in the upper right corner.  If you don't already have a google ID, then you'll have to click "Create an Account Now" and follow the steps to create one.
3.  Once you're signed in, you should see "National Writing Project of Texas" under "My Groups."  If you don't, contact your Tech Liaison or e-mail any@helmling.com for help.

We also have a video tour available here.  Once you get to the Google Group you'll probably want to add it as a favorite or bookmark in your web browser.  You can also make it part of a custom Google start page by following these directions.

It's also a good idea to change your e-mail settings in the Google Group to "digest" once you get started so that you don't get an individual e-mail for every single post in the Group.
