Stories and feedback here

For Lent we challenged you to either: say no to plastic bags, bottles, and takeaway packaging; or give up all new plastic.

Why plastic?

How much plastic do you throw away each day? Plastic never bio-degrades, so every plastic bag, bottle, and toothbrush you've ever used can still be found in a rubbish dump, the sea, or littering our streets and countryside. This debris can also harm wildlife, especially in our oceans, and tiny plastic particles can accumulate and persist up the food-chain.

Could you cut some plastic out of your life? Or could you avoid completely acquiring any new plastic for a month? Apart from reducing waste, these challenges might help you discover a bit more about your local community; think about the materials we buy; and can often lead to a cheaper and healthier lifestyle.

The "Message in the Waves" film helped to inspire us—could it convince you to say no to plastic?
