SENIORS 2008
This information is provided to you to help you, the graduate and the parent of a graduate, be aware of events that will occur during your senior year. We will communicate with all seniors through Language Arts teachers, 4th period announcements, and this website. --- Senior Class Sponsor, Mrs. Carla Youmans
Senior Dues are paid ONLINE to Scholastic Images under Graduation!!!!!!! Click HERE to pay senior dues which includes your cap and gown.
Senior dues are $100.00 (before January 31, 2008). Late fees will be added after January 31, 2008. They are currently 150.00. These are paid DIRECTLY to Scholastic Images (our Balfour representative). Senior dues pay for each senior's cap and gown, graduation at the Gwinnett Arena, Senior Week (this is a week of activities for seniors in May), etc. In order to be sure that all graduates' gowns match and fit appropriately, we no longer allow graduates to use an older sibling's gown.

Yard Signs for Seniors
The senior parent committee in collaboration with The Sign Connection at the Mall of Georgia have worked together to form a great opportunity for parents of North Gwinnett seniors! For every sign purchased from The Sign Connection (located beside the Waffle House at the Mall of Georgia), the owners will donate money back to the NGHS Class of 2008!!!

Graduation
Graduation is Saturday, May 24 at 7:00 p.m. at the Gwinnett Arena.
Each student will receive 10 tickets for the graduation ceremony. A ticket is needed for entrance into graduation. Doors for guests will open 1 hour before the ceremony starts.
Handicap accessibility for guests are the same as for any event at the Gwinnett Arena.
Graduates need to arrive at the Arena between 5:15 p.m.and 5:30 p.m. Every graduate needs to be seated by 5:30 p.m.

Dress Code for Graduates
Guys: Shirt, tie, black pants,/slacks and black shoes
Girls: a dress (or shirt & top) and black shoes.
NO FLIP FLOPS OR SNEAKERS!
Violation of dress code in any form or any action that suggests a reason for an issue of misconduct can result in removal from graduation ceremony.
Do NOT bring anything in w/you! Leave all cell phones, cameras, purses, etc. in your car.
Unleashed Memories--Senior Folders
Every year, each senior has a senior folder. In this folder are letters from anyone who wants to write that senior. Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors, family and community members will write you letters. They will be submitted in drop boxes in the media center
REMEMBER: The recipient’s full name must be on the outside of the letter! Due by Friday, May 9, 2008.

Wednesday, May 14—Senior Breakfast--6:45 a.m. in the Commons Area—Dress from your favorite decade
Thursday, May 15—Dress your best to stand out among the student body
Friday, May 16—“Senior T-Shirt Day.” We will have Karaoke during lunch. Your senior t-shirt is your pass to karaoke. Karaoke will take place in the lobby of the theater. Plan to attend during your lunch only. Each senior will receive a ticket for Rita’s Italian Ice.
Monday, May 19—(1st day of exams) College T-Shirt Day or Armed Forces Day. Wear a shirt from your favorite college, the college you’ll be attending, or the branch of the armed forces you are joining.
Tuesday, May 20—(2nd day of exams) –Polka Dot and Stripes Day. All seniors wear everything with polka dots and/or stripes to stand out among the student body.
Wednesday, May 21—(3rd day of exams) “Senior Picnic.” Lunch will be provided immediately after school (11:45) for the seniors in the Commons Area, and you will receive your Unleashed Memories Senior Letters. We will have a short presentation, lunch will be served, and then the folders will be given out. You must be present to pick up your folder. Any folder not picked up at the picnic will be available in the front office the next day.
Friday, May 23—Graduation practice will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the NGHS Commons Area; therefore, you need to plan on ARRIVING at 12:30 p.m. to find your seat. This will last as long as it takes--at least plan to be here for a couple of hours. DO NOT BE LATE! DO NOT MISS PRACTICE! NO PRACTICE = NO GRADUATION!
