Dear Parents,

        As you know, 2^nd grade has begun our unit on the Solar System.  We have studied the moon, and now have started learning about the planets.  Each child has been assigned a planet to study.  Your child’s planet is ________________.  They will be doing a small report about their planet as well as a project to go along with it.  The students have 3 choices for their project:

1)      Large poster showing pictures and fun facts about their planet

2)      Diorama (ex:  shoebox painted black) with a model of their planet and the solar system inside

3)      Solar system mobile with their planet as the center and other related pictures/facts hanging around it

Most of these links are very kid-friendly, so, while your child will need some assistance, please see how much they can do on their own for this project.

 

The report form is attached to this note.  Students should complete the Planet Report in their neatest cursive, remembering to use complete sentences, capitalization, and punctuation.

Both the report and the project are due next Thursday, April 9^th.
