park. The computer lab is located in the lower Math wing and the

Description: This course is
designed to introduce students to create digital images, videos and combine
various file formats into electronic portfolios for use in the classroom and
with their students.
Global Goals:
Students will learn
- To design more effective curriculum by
using new emerging technologies
- To use a variety of digital imaging,
audio and video software to create educational content and develop project
based learning assignments for students
- To understand the multi-sensory world
that our students live in and how the way we present instruction and
develop assessments is critical to student success in the 21st

Course Agenda
- Learn to use Picasa, a digital imaging software,
to edit digital images
- Learn to upload
digital images to an online resource to access from any Internet connected
computer (Flickr, PicasaWeb)
- Learn to use audio
capturing software on personal computers (with microphones and voice
recorders) to create content
- Learn to use Window Movie Maker, a video
creating software, to create a video
- Learn to use Jing and VoiceThread to create video content to share on the web and
embed in a blog, wiki or web site
- Establish a SchoolTube account to upload videos
to share on the web and embed in a blog, wiki or web site
- Learn to use PowerPoint to create animations
- Learn to use Adobe
Acrobat Pro to combine file formats and create electronic portfolios
- Students will learn about digital and video copyright
laws and how it pertains to education
