iPod Carts in the Classroom

iPods are not just for playing music!

...If a picture is worth a thousand words..... then a video must be worth a million.

The goal of this workshop is to integrate video resources into the classroom for differentiated instruction with the eventual outcome for students to create their own content.

Educators are innovative and creative individuals.  They have a knack for taking all sorts of tools, ideas and products and finding ways of adapting them to meet the learning needs of our diverse students.  The iPod is no exception. It can be an integral part of the educational experience.

You do not necessarily need an iPod or even an iPod cart to use podcasting and vodcasting (media rich content) in the classroom; however, we will showcase the iPod cart that has been recently purchased by Barnstable Public Schools.   We will take you from the basics of using Podcasts and media rich content with one machine to more advanced applications with an complete iPod cart.

We will explore numerous web resources for finding educational materials for classroom and home use. Such resources include iTunes U, Teacher Tube, and other media hosting services. We will also look at ways to integrate these tools into whole group and individualized instruction.
