School employees agree to mentor an individual student and to meet weekly to help, listen, encourage, problem solve.  There is a monthly luncheon to which they are invited to come meet together, funded by MetLife Bridge Builders. 

Mentors have regular support from monthly Mentor Support Meetings and periodic calls from the Case Manager to be sure that everything is going well.

Mentees have weekly lunch meetings in which they discuss topics of interest (violence in relationships, dating, peer pressure, how to talk to your teacher when they are mad), plan activities, set their future goals and learn leadership skills. 

In addition, mentees also get help applying for colleges and applying for financial aide.
