November 22,
The school year is really moving by quite rapidly. It's hard to believe that we have already reached the mid-term of the second quarter and that we only have two days of school this week because of Thanksgiving. I hope that all of you have a blessed Thanksgiving vacation and pray that you find time to thank God for all of His blessings.
Since this is a short week, I will give you the information for this week and next week (That way I won't have to remember to do this over the vacation also.) For our short week, we will have news reports on Monday and our second semi-final in our debate tournament. It is my hope that the students are learning how to speak up on topics and how to support their beliefs with examples, data, and facts. In addition to this, we will discuss the future news reports and look at alternative suggestions to knowing and understanding what is going on in the world.
The highlights of next week include another debate and a Stossel report on Price Gouging in times of natural emergencies. We also will try to stay current on what's going on with the news. That should surely prove to be interesting, especially as the senate begins to debate its version of the health care bill. |
