The school year is really moving by quite rapidly.  It's hard to believe that we have already reached the mid-term of the second quarter and that we only have two days of school this week because of Thanksgiving.  I hope that all of you have a blessed Thanksgiving vacation and pray that you find time to thank God for all of His blessings.

 

Since this is a short week, I will give you the information for this week and next week (That way I won't have to remember to do this over the vacation also.)  First of all, this week will be dedicated to reviewing many concepts and to taking the chapter 10 test from last week.  We will do the reinforcement activity for the first cycle which was after lesson 8.  In it, we will be able to review worksheets, adjustments, financial statements, closing transactions, and trial balances.  We will also do the Challenge Activity for Chapter 10 which will allow us to review all five journals and the various transactions that go into each one of them.  I have also placed to activities from Chapter 9 in this week for those who want some extra credit.

 

Next week, we should get back to our Monday to Friday schedule with the test on Friday.  I think that seems to work better for me and for the students as they seem to have a better memory of what we have covered during the week.  Anyway, we will be working through Chapter 11 which deals with posting from the various journals that we have used in the last two lessons.  We will be posting to the general ledger, and also to the subsidiary ledgers for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.  We also will be checking for errors, learning how to correct them when we find them, and making sure that the subsidiary ledgers and the general ledger controlling accounts are in agreement.
