About the Digital Music Course

The goal of the Digital Music elective course offered at UMS is for students to explore ways in which music technologies are applied to various professional and real world scenarios. We will focus on understanding and applying the 7 Elements of Music using the digital music program SymphonyPro, explore the concept of "good" music versus music that is "good for" a specific purpose, and examine multiple perspectives and preferences on a variety of musical genres.

Requirements for Enrollment

None! Students of all levels of musical knowledge, ability, and experience are welcome in the Digital Music classroom. My goal is to meet students where they're at and to give them the tools to create an individualized semester-long plan for academic and musical success.
